Crystal D.Budy

Crystal's Bio: I've been writing since I could pick up a pen. The first story I remember writing was about these stuffed animals I had -- they were dogs and cats and I wrote it in a notebook. When I was about eleven, we got our first computer and shortly thereafter I got this software called something along the lines as Dreamweaver Storybook Maker (I'm probably completely wrong about the name -- that was a while ago!). I created a story called Jenny and Benny about a little girl and her bunny. I couldn't tell you anything else about what it was about. But my mom was enthralled and scoured the web, sending it out to random people. Apparently one of the people she sent it to was Eric Carle (author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar) and he replied back saying that I was very talented for my age. Now I am able to look back on that and realize just how cool that is, but back then all I wanted to do was write. And in all honesty, that's all I want to do now. I'm in college getting a degree because I like to learn. I will probably go on to graduate school because I'm a knowledge junkie and because I have career aspirations I would like to reach. But writing will always be a passion of mine that I don't ever want to let go out.

"Really enjoyed this book, I couldnt put it down, so the first one took me about a day and a half to read. I read this one in about one day!! Good Work, really interesting story line and would love to see more from this author!!"~Review of Echo of Darkness on Amazon

Crystal's Work--The North Coast Series

Echo of Silence

Special Agent Rob Karlton is brilliant, dedicated, and tries hard at whatever he does. He's also stubborn, sarcastic, and spends much of his time pissing a lot of people off. A tragic past has left him bitter and contemptuous toward women and life in general and his attitude doesn't rub well with a lot of people. One of those people is his new boss, Lilah Matthews. Rob is horrified that his new boss is a woman and makes no bones about expressing that opinion. Lilah has no problem taking none of his crap and giving his attitude back to him tenfold.
When 13-year-old Cassie Phelps gets swiped off the street on her way to school by men in ski masks, Rob is placed on the task force to help find her. When he discovers that Cassie and her parents didn't exist before 2004, he's dead-set determined to find out the story behind it. What he uncovers goes much deeper than anything he could have ever imagined.

Echo of Darkness

Special Agent Stevie Winters has recently transferred into the violent crimes unit of the FBI's Cleveland division, a boys club where her presence is not welcome with open arms. On her second day, Stevie is thrown into her first homicide investigation when a case from the past comes back to haunt the unit and a serial killer they never caught starts killing again. The switch from cyber crimes to violent crimes will come as more than just a culture shock as Stevie finds herself in the crossfire between a crazed suspect and the sociopathic murderer, catapulting her into the undesirable position of becoming the next victim.

Echo of Chaos

Special Agents Rob Karlton and Stevie Winters are not what anyone would call friends. When they are assigned to locate not just the several million dollars worth of valuables that have been stolen from Councilman Joseph DeGlauser's home but his missing ex-wife as well, these two agents are forced to put aside their differences. They must try and weed their way through the many enemies in the Councilman's sordid career while the rest of the violent crimes unit tries to solve the murder of two of DeGlauser's peers. Did Councilman DeGlauser stage the break-in to get rid of his leech of an ex-wife? Are the murders, disappearance, and burglary connected? Was this the work of a professional or someone angry with the politician's ultra-conservative views?

Join the Cleveland FBI's Violent Crimes Unit as they attempt to unravel the hidden agendas of those involved as they wind through the seedy underbelly of the local political scene.

Echo of Chaos is the third exciting novel in the North Coast Mysteries series. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, in the FBI's violent crimes unit, the series follows a group of FBI agents in work and life. Murder, kidnappings, and mayhem spell out the lives of these people -- and their personal lives aren't much better.
