Interview with S.D. Rasheed

Author S.D. Rasheed is from the “Deep South” and has written Linaje, a fantasy novella which she describes here. She shares how she chooses what to write and other fascinating details about her work.

My first novella, a space story about a curse on the universe, stars four survivors from Earth. Earth had just fallen to a plasma wave that's spreading throughout the universe. The four survivors, Dain, his young sister Kalina, F.U.I and his cousin Brisa, must travel through the deepest reaches of known space in order to find a way to stop the space eating cloud.

I find it easy to choose a subject to write about. I have an active imagination and a love science fiction and fantasy stories.

What inspires you to write? Sharing my ideas to the world is my inspiration.

Who designed the covers? The cover for Linaje was designed by Karoly Mihalec, a very talented graphics designer I contacted on Deviant Art. He was generous enough to let me use one of his works for my first space novella for free. I plan to pay him for it when I can, though.

Who is your favorite author and why? Wow. There are so many out there. It's hard to favor just one.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? Yes. If you like my work, please, feel free to let me know.

How about a link to your book? http://www.amazon.com/Linaje-ebook/dp/B007Z1R9K6/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1335956868&sr=1-1

What are your most effective methods of promotion? Right now, I've been relying on social media to promote my work. I'm working to expand into blog tours and interviews (like this one).
